Participants will learn simple ways to use fresh seasonal produce while building confidence in seasonal cooking at home.
The workshop includes recipes, tastings, meal ideas, and helpful tips for prepping and storing fresh produce and herbs. Seasonal ingredients may include herbs, greens, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, and other peak summer produce depending on availability.
Cook Off the Land is a seasonal kitchen workshop collection exploring practical and inspiring ways to cook with the vegetables, fruits, herbs, and abundance emerging from Iowa gardens and local farms throughout the growing season. We will continue the series on August 4 (Late Summer Workshop) and September 24 (Early Fall Workshop).
These workshops focus on helping participants build confidence cooking seasonally at home through recipes, tastings, meal ideas, and practical tips for prepping and storing fresh produce and herbs. Workshops may also explore local food systems, seasonal preservation, and foraged or wild ingredients connected to the Prairiewoods landscape depending on the season and availability.
