Dangerous Songs: An Evening with Richard Bruxvoort Colligan (Online)

August 27 @ 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
$15

Experience Richard Bruxvoort Colligan’s exploration of the Psalms through songs and readings.

The Psalms of the Hebrew Bible are passionate in both joy and grief. They sing about the full range of human experience, including thriving, desolation and unknowing.

Dr. Richard Bruxvoort Colligan has had a tumultuous relationship with the Psalms. With the spirit of a musician and spiritual director, Richard guides us on a tour of these ancient songs, and invites us to be shaped by them.

In this online evening, Richard explores how the Psalms can be a vital companion in faith. He’ll read from his new book, “Dangerous Songs: The Psalms and a Gloriously Disrupted Life, and sing us songs.

“Richard Bruxvoort-Colligan has lived with the Psalms his whole life, and he has wrestled with them on many levels (like Jacob wrestling the angel) — as a Christian, a musician, a leader, a human being. In Dangerous Songs, you’ll be invited into what the Psalms have taught him, why they matter, how they work, and how they can guide you into a life of thriving, even in grief, despair, fury, and bewilderment.  Highly recommended!”
— Brian D. McLaren, author of Faith After Doubt, Life After Doom, The Last Voyage

This online event is for contemplatives, faith leaders, artists, and fans of the Psalms who want to go deeper.
