SUMMARY:Pathways of Peace: Re-enchanting Our Relationship With Food
DESCRIPTION:Consider how food choices can contribute to food peace (and enjoy good food too!) \n“What would happen\,” Michael Pollan asked\, “if we were to start thinking about food as less of a thing and more of a relationship?” For Prairiewoods Food Service Director Mariah Andrews\, that question gets to the heart of plant-based eating. “It’s not about rules\, restrictions\, or a number on the scale\,” she says. “It’s about reconnecting—with myself\, the seasons\, and people. It’s about making meals that really matter.” \nIf we understand peace as relationship with self\, others\, the Source of All Being and Earth\, what changes when we bring that vision to the food we eat? A new way of nourishing and promoting health begins to emerge—one that shifts food from a mere transaction to an act of planetary consciousness. \nThis weekend retreat invites you into a transformational experience. Together\, we will: \n• Explore wisdom from earth-honoring sages\, physiology\, and nutrition science.• Reflect on how our food choices connect us to the web of life.• Redefine success as flourishing on Earth—where food nurtures rather than depletes\, connects rather than isolates\, and honors rather than exploits.• Create personal and community-centered practices that cultivate “food peace” for health\, harmony\, and wholeness. \nAt the heart of our time together will be shared meals\, conversation\, and reflection—building a pathway of peace with food at the center of the table. \nLodger Cost:  $255\, includes retreat content\, Friday and Saturday lodging\, Saturday breakfast\, lunch\, dinner and Sunday breakfast\, lunch.Commuter Cost:  $195\, includes retreat content\, Saturday lunch and dinner\, Sunday lunch. \nRegister Now: \nhttps://pw.retreatportal.com/calendar/event?programcode=26PGR33703

SUMMARY:Nature & Forest Therapy Experience
DESCRIPTION:Experience a sensory-focused practice that invites us to slow down and be present with self and the natural world \nFriday\, Apr. 24\, 2:30–3:45 p.m. \nJoin Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) and certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide Emelia Sautter for a walk with the natural world. Experience Nature and Forest Therapy\, also known as Forest Bathing\, a sensory-focused practice that invites us to slow down and be present with self and the natural world around us. According to the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy\, “Forest Therapy is a practice that supports health and wellness through guided immersion in forests and other environments to promote the well-being of both people and the land. It is inspired by shinrin yoku\, the Japanese practice of ‘Forest Bathing.’” \nMuch research has been done on the healing and therapeutic benefits of Forest Therapy. Hundreds of clinical and non-clinical studies show numerous positive effects\, including reductions in stress\, anxiety\, depression\, mental fatigue\, anger and pain. Improvements include better cognitive functioning\, sleep\, mood\, confidence and creativity. Time with our nature kin also boosts our immune system\, regulates blood pressure\, improves relationships\, increases feelings of gratitude and much more! \nThis is a trauma informed practice\, and all are welcome. This is not exercise or hiking; it is a slow\, sensory walk with the land. \nThe cost is $20\, and registration is required by noon. \nRegister Now: \nhttps://pw.retreatportal.com/calendar/event?programcode=26PEA34408

SUMMARY:Men Exploring Faith (hybrid)
DESCRIPTION:Join with a small group of reflective men about the transformations we go through as we age \nsecond & fourth Thursdays\, 4–5:30 p.m. U.S. Central Time \nBehavioral scientists and spiritual guides have noted a major transformation in the life direction of many men as we mature. It may happen gradually or abruptly\, as early as our 20s or in our 50s or 60s. Some men never make this shift\, described as a change from goal drivenness to receptivity\, from ego to wisdom. The transition can start from the inside (Why am I doing what I’m doing?) or the outside (from a loss or threat)\, and it may seem disruptive while on the way to being life-enhancing. \nJoin with a small group of reflective men at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) in honest conversation about these changes. This group meets in person with an online option available on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month and is facilitated by Linzy Martin. \nA free-will offering will be gratefully accepted on the next screen. \nRegister Now: \nhttps://pw.retreatportal.com/calendar/event?programcode=26PWS33890

SUMMARY:Go Deeper Thursdays (Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Connect at a deep level with an hour of online spiritual conversation \nThursdays\, 4–5 p.m. U.S. Central Time \nGo Deeper Thursdays is an ongoing personal exploration and deepening in community. This online group began during the pandemic as an opportunity to be in community while physically isolated. Over the years\, we have seen many faces and heard many voices—all of us willing to open ourselves in order to go deeper in our own consciousness and spirituality. Topics emerge from the conversations and maintain a general focus on our spiritual lives. Convener Ellen Bruckner guides these online conversations every Thursday. \nRegistration is required to get the Zoom link\, and a free-will offering will be gratefully accepted on the next screen. \nRegister Now: \nhttps://pw.retreatportal.com/calendar/event?programcode=26PWS33967
