SUMMARY:Pathways of Peace: Re-enchanting Our Relationship With Food
DESCRIPTION:Consider how food choices can contribute to food peace (and enjoy good food too!) \n“What would happen\,” Michael Pollan asked\, “if we were to start thinking about food as less of a thing and more of a relationship?” For Prairiewoods Food Service Director Mariah Andrews\, that question gets to the heart of plant-based eating. “It’s not about rules\, restrictions\, or a number on the scale\,” she says. “It’s about reconnecting—with myself\, the seasons\, and people. It’s about making meals that really matter.” \nIf we understand peace as relationship with self\, others\, the Source of All Being and Earth\, what changes when we bring that vision to the food we eat? A new way of nourishing and promoting health begins to emerge—one that shifts food from a mere transaction to an act of planetary consciousness. \nThis weekend retreat invites you into a transformational experience. Together\, we will: \n• Explore wisdom from earth-honoring sages\, physiology\, and nutrition science.• Reflect on how our food choices connect us to the web of life.• Redefine success as flourishing on Earth—where food nurtures rather than depletes\, connects rather than isolates\, and honors rather than exploits.• Create personal and community-centered practices that cultivate “food peace” for health\, harmony\, and wholeness. \nAt the heart of our time together will be shared meals\, conversation\, and reflection—building a pathway of peace with food at the center of the table. \nLodger Cost:  $255\, includes retreat content\, Friday and Saturday lodging\, Saturday breakfast\, lunch\, dinner and Sunday breakfast\, lunch.Commuter Cost:  $195\, includes retreat content\, Saturday lunch and dinner\, Sunday lunch. \nRegister Now: \nhttps://pw.retreatportal.com/calendar/event?programcode=26PGR33703

SUMMARY:Circle of Trust: Spring Regeneration
DESCRIPTION:Participate in a day-long retreat\, based on Parker Palmer’s idea of a “hidden wholeness” within us\, where we will explore our authentic selves in community with others \nSaturday\, May 2\, 9:30 a.m.–4 p.m. U.S. Central Time \nCircle of Trust© retreats offer participants an immersive experience of the Courage & Renewal© approach. Sponsored by the Center for Courage & Renewal (CCR) founded by Parker Palmer\, it is based on Palmer’s idea of a “hidden wholeness” within us. \nIn this time together at Prairiewoods\, we will co-create trustworthy space to do our own inner work in community with others. Discovering who we authentically are and aligning our inner and outer lives—or “soul and role”—is an ongoing\, life-long process that happens through discovering\, listening to\, and following our “inner source of truth\,” named in various wisdom traditions as identity\, true self\, heart\, spirit\, or soul. This source of guidance and strength helps us find our way through life’s complexities and challenges. Poems\, stories\, songs\, artworks\, somatic activities—all drawn from diverse cultures and wisdom traditions—will offer opportunities to contemplate\, reflect upon\, and share insights regarding authentic relationships with society\, nature\, and spirit in order to inspire the soul to speak in a community of support and trust. As we listen to the wisdom of each person’s inner teacher\, honor each person’s identity and integrity\, and renew a courageous spirit\, we journey toward personal and societal wholeness. \nEach Circle of Trust gathering will have a seasonal theme and will invite participants to engage in full-group\, small-group\, and individual reflection\, discussion\, and activity\, including opportunities to connect with the beautiful natural grounds at Prairiewoods. These Circles of Trust are open to all\, regardless of background or belief. The goal is to deepen understanding of one’s deepest self—one’s soul—especially in relationship to community\, society\, Earth\, and the spiritual realm as each circle member defines it. Participants are welcome to come to one\, some\, or all of our circle gatherings. \nThe cost is $50 per session. \nRegister Now: \nhttps://pw.retreatportal.com/calendar/event?programcode=26PWS34196
