- Labyrinths date back more than 4,000 years. They are often circular in shape and have one singular path that leads to the middle and out again. They come in many different designs.
- Labyrinths are named by their type and can also be identified by the number of circuits they have.
- Their uses vary widely from walking it for meditation to using it for choreographed dancing. They can be sites for rituals and ceremonies, as well.
- You begin a labyrinth walk at the entrance and follow one path the entire time until you find yourself in the center. Once in the center you can pause, say a prayer or self-affirmation, and then walk the path back out of the labyrinth.
- The labyrinth at Prairiewoods is inspired by the one in the Chartres Cathedral in France. It is a natural labyrinth made from bricks and sand.
