The winter solstice is coming up on Monday, Dec. 21. This is the shortest day and the longest night of the year and the first official day of winter.
As I ponder this special time of year both seasonally and spiritually, I am holding a beautiful song in my heart called The Longest Night of the Year by Mary Chapin Carpenter.
I invite you to listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IKcaP6wKG8.
My favorite line of the song is,
“Make a vow when Solstice comes: To find the Light in everyone”
What are we holding on this longest night of the year?
What can the darkness teach us?
Can we make this vow: to find the light in everyone?
