What are you noticing as we begin the autumn season? What are you seeing, now several weeks after the derecho storm? I am noticing trees and stumps and so much beauty.
The forest in my neighborhood has opened up again. As I move along with the trees, the light pours in. The canopy is open sky and tree tops, light and shadow. The light has shifted, and forest is still the forest. Some trees who stood as canopy now live on the forest floor.
One of my favorite trees is the fairy tree, and a fairy-loving family tends the tree. This tree is now in stump form. Still beautiful, still a fine fairy home.
You are still beautiful
As a seed
As a mature tree
As a nurse log
As a stump
As mulch
You are still a beautiful tree
Still connected to mystery
What might you say to the trees you love?
